The Stichting Seen Art Foundation, founded in the Netherlands in 2008 by Maria Vigil Viera, was initially established with the purpose of promoting art and education globally. From the beginning, the foundation focused on the idea that art can be a powerful medium for personal and social transformation, particularly in vulnerable communities and disadvantaged situations.

In 2015, Maria Vigil made a trip to El Salvador, during which she witnessed firsthand the needs and challenges faced by the local population, particularly children and young people. This experience motivated her to expand the work of the Stichting Seen Art Foundation, establishing a branch in the country with the aim of providing support and contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of Salvadorans.

With the creation of the El Salvador branch, the Seen Art Foundation materialized its founder's desire to support Salvadoran children and young people, and more broadly, the communities of Central America. To achieve this goal, the foundation focuses on funding and developing projects that use art as an inspiring and catalyzing tool for change. These projects aim to boost creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression, as well as promote inclusion and a sense of belonging in society.

Over time, the foundation has broadened its focus, incorporating sports, social work, and technology. These new elements complement the work in art and education, providing a comprehensive approach to community development and empowerment. 

Thus, the Seen Art Foundation's El Salvador branch was born, a project that seeks to provide support and contribute to the improvement of living conditions for Salvadorans through projects that use art as a tool for social change. In this text, we explored the history of the Seen Art Foundation and its comprehensive approach to community development and empowerment.
